I am trying something new this week! I have been reading everyone’s comments on my current giveaway about what I should be featuring here at in a Kid’s World. It looks like there a several specific areas you guys are interested in. I find so many activities each week and just do not have time to post them all seeing each post takes about 20 minutes or so and I do this blog for fun in my spare time. So we are going to try making a running list each week for several categories you guys showed interest in. I will update the lists daily that way you can visit each day to see what is new but also have access to the rest of the weeks free activities so you are sure not to miss any of the fun. This way I can simply add the information below which should only take a few minutes which means you guys will get more activities to do with your kids.

I want to hear your fun ideas too! So please feel free to add your own activity ideas in the link up below! Free and Cheap Activities to Keep the Kids Entertained

Here is this weekends and into next week’s free and cheap activities for the kiddos. Unless otherwise noted all activities are FREE. This week I am trying something new and I am adding a linky below so if you have anymore that you find or know about please feel free to link to the webpage of the activity below or if you are a blogger you can link up to your list if you have more listed than the ones below but please do not duplicate. This will become a new feature that I will post every Friday so we can all find fun stuff to do with the kiddos !

• Lowe’s Build & Grow Clinic: on Saturday (5/29), from 10 – 11 am, bring the kids in to build a Jimmie Johnson car complete with Memorial Day paint scheme.  The first 50 kids to sign up get a kit, work apron, and safety goggles for free. You need to register for the workshop because space is limited.

• Lakeshore Learning Store: on Saturday (5/29), from 11 am – 3 pm, kids will be making a free Let’s Play Tic-Tac-Toe board.

• Michaels:  on Saturday (5/29) between 10 am and 1pm your kids can participate in  an American Girl Craft Event.

• Lego Store: on 6/1 from 5 pm until supplies last kids can build a Lego Grill. This event is for  child aged 6 to 14 and is free.

Here is another FREE program to consider when looking for activities for the kids. The Apple Store is offering Apple Youth Workshops which are free hands-on workshops for families to learn how to compose a song, produce a movie, create a photo album, or make a presentation.

There are several workshops to choose from:

Show Workshop

Learn how to create stunning presentations using Keynote, amazing graphs and charts using Numbers and stylish documents using Pages. Kids will go home with lots of great ideas on becoming a presenter.

Music Workshop

Using GarageBand, we’ll teach families to compose a song with loops, beats, and even their own vocals. At the end of the workshop, they’ll have a finished song on a CD and ideas for future music projects.

Movie Workshop

This workshop will teach families how to import footage, crop video clips, and add special effects to produce their own movie with iMovie. When they’ve finished, these budding filmmakers can take home their masterpiece on a DVD.

Photo Workshop

Using iPhoto, we’ll show families how to edit, print, and share photos and how to make photo albums and slideshows. At the end of the workshop they’ll have a DVD of their photos and ideas for future projects.

This Saturday and Sunday (5/8 & 5/9) from 2pm-4pm Pottery Barn Kids will hold a free craft workshop to celebrate Mother’s Day. Kids will enjoy making colorful tissue-paper flowers for Mom!

Join your local Toys”R”Us store for a Crayola Glow Explosion event on Saturday, May 8 from 11am to 1pm. Enjoy free gifts (limit one per child) and more! Back in November I was lucky enough to be sent 3 Crayola toys for review and one of them was the Crayola Color Explosion Glow Dome. I can say this was and still is one of the kids favorite toys and is really cool so a Glow Explosion event should be lots of fun for the kids!

Looks like I will be staying home this weekend playing in the what seems to be a once a year snow event in SC. Boy are we having fun playing snowball fights, sledding, and building snowman! For those of you looking for something cheap or free to do with the kids check out this list of activities:
